The support system for persons with HIV-Aids is relatively sturdy in Davao City. But the individual belief that HIV-Aids cannot possibly infect one’s self makes for high awareness and concern only after positive diagnosis because that is when the support groups are able to identify who are into risky behaviors and need help.

Of greater concern is that those who are testing positive are young males in multiple-partnered homosexual relationships.
